Employment Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate- Northampton

Tell me more about the role….
We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and experienced Employment Solicitor to join our team based at our Northampton office.
We are considering individuals with a range of experience but are ideally looking for someone who is 3 years PQE, up to Senior Associate level.
You will need to be competent at working independently, handling your own caseload from initial instruction through to completion, and providing guidance and mentoring to our more junior team members.
This is a role where your voice will be heard, with genuine scope for a challenging but supported career.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will undertake a diverse caseload incorporating contentious and non-contentious work for employer clients.
Wilson Browne acts for a diverse client base including SMEs, OMBs, and listed companies. In addition, we also act for employees.
No two days are the same… you could be working on anything from Settlement Agreements to providing corporate support for M&A work as well as the full range of employment matters including, but not limited to:
- Assisting with Modern Slavery Act compliance,
- Playing an integral advisory role with a variety of projects (including re-structuring, changing terms and conditions of employment, and large-scale redundancy exercises),
- Providing strategic advice in connection with Boardroom/SMT disputes,
- Providing ad hoc advice on operational HR matters,
- Assisting with data protection compliance, and
- Representing clients in employment tribunals.
This is a role that will grow with you, and you’ll also have the opportunity to work on projects in conjunction with our Corporate & Commercial, Commercial Litigation, and Commercial Property teams. (Most of our teams being recognised by Legal 500).
On top of that, you’ll have first-class support from our award-winning Marketing Team, to assist with business development opportunities.
Many of our current partners trained with the firm and progressed to Head of Team or Board member positions, so the opportunities really are there for promotion.
You’ll also be an integral part of the firm, potentially having a say in budgets, recruitment, input to marketing, business development, and the overall strategy for developing your chosen market.

Commercial Property Solicitor- Corby or Kettering
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join our busy Legal 500 recognised team, based at either our Corby or Kettering office.
You will be competent at working independently and handling your own caseload, but will be supported by the Partners and other members of the team. This is a role where your voice will be heard, with genuine scope for a challenging but supported career.
Scope of work
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a range of property matters, including, but not limited to:
- leases
- freehold property
- development land
- agricultural property
- acting for SIPPS/SASSs, corporates, individuals
- dealing with commercial lenders
- option Agreements, Promotion Agreements, and Overage

Commercial Property Paralegal- Kettering
A full-time paralegal is required for the Legal 500 recognised Commercial Property team based at our Kettering office.
Wilson Browne Solicitors are the current NLS Law Firm of the Year; were Highly Commended in two categories by the national Law Society; and the commercial property team is one of the largest in the county.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to further develop their skills in property but with a commercial bias. The firm would consider supporting the right candidate in obtaining relevant qualifications where appropriate, as the role would develop with the candidate.
The ideal candidate will be forward thinking, and wish to progress within a busy, professional team but does not need to have had prior commercial property experience, although some Property Law or Residential Conveyancing experience with sales and purchases is preferable.
This is a full and busy role and will include the following:
- Dealing directly with clients,
- Managing their own caseload, predominantly consisting of plot sales (including shared ownership leases) and management company deeds of covenants
- Also assisting team members with management of their caseload and day-to-day progress of files
- Creating and amending property related documentation
- Dealing with and checking routine property searches
- Dealing with enquiries over the telephone and via email
- Production of correspondence & administration of client matters
- Helping out other members of the team whenever possible
- Diary management
- Filing
- General post completion correspondence
- Completion of registrations and dealing with any requisitions
- Completion and submission of online stamp duty land tax returns
- To deal with administrative routines, and provide administrative support as required by the team
- Maintenance of client relationship management data and property records
The successful applicant will be a dynamic Paralegal who ideally has experience of working within a private practice, preferably with conveyancing experience. They will be confident in addressing clients in a professional capacity and will possess an enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude.
Commercial Litigation Paralegal- Kettering
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic paralegal to join our busy Commercial Litigation Team at our Kettering office.
The position would primarily provide support to a partner dealing with complex litigation for businesses and individuals. Working with one of only two ‘Leading Individuals’ in the region as well as named Legal 500 Partners this is a real opportunity for someone to take their experience to the next level. Legal analysis and critical thinking are pre-requisites for this role. There will be the opportunity to run your own cases alongside providing this support.
In addition, there is the potential to get involved with some of the following:
- Adverse Possession
- Housing Litigation
- Debt Recovery
- Breach of Contract
There would also be scope to assist the team with breach of contract claims, shareholder/director’s disputes, professional negligence claims, and property/land disputes. The team also has a large Adverse Possession, Housing Litigation and Debt Recovery offering.
You will join a TIER TWO LEGAL 500 recognised team, that features three partners and a range of qualified staff together with paralegals and support.
We are looking for individuals with experience of the Civil Procedure Rules and ideally with some experience of two or more of the above areas as well as eagerness to learn and develop new areas of specialism. Essential skills are attention to detail and an ability to perform under pressure in a supported environment.
